Free Google Analytics Data Studio Template

I created a Google Analytics dashboard on Data Studio.  I’m a big fan of dashboards and templates.  Templates are a great time-saver because a lot of the work is done for you.  Dashboards are also a great time saver because it makes information more accessible.  However, I haven’t seen many great dashboard templates for Google Data Studio.

A lot of the available templates are too feature-rich.  They include ecommerce conversion metrics and other event tracking which most websites don’t have.  When using these templates, I often find myself starting off by removing a lot of the modules.  This causes them to get deranged and the final product never looks nice.

I decided to create a minimalist data studio dashboard for Google Analytics.  Most websites have Google Analytics set up, so this template should be able to fit many use-cases.  It only includes general information such as traffic stats, traffic sources, device breakdown, and top pages.  If the user wants more advanced features, they can add them themselves.  I only wanted to include the essentials.

To use a Data Studio template, simply open it up click the three dots on the upper right hand side of the dashboard and select “make a copy.”  From here, you can connect your own data sources and populate the dashboard to your specific need.

After you’ve made a copy of my data studio template, you’re free to do whatever you want!  You can use it to monitor your own website traffic, send reports to agency clients, or even use it as a base to make your own template.  The possibilities are endless!  Hope you enjoy my template, if you have any questions please reach out!
